As a weight lifter, I always hated cardiovascular exercises because they take up a lot of time and found them boring. Unfortunately, my friends are trying to get started with running and they are inviting me to join them. Having little to no knowledge about running, I decided looking up the internet to see if there are any tips that can help me get started. I ended up coming across this book and I'm so glad I did! It provided detailed information on how to get started with running especially with nutrition, injury awareness or symptoms, and the overall benefits of running etc. The most interesting part discussed in this book and I think the most critical is motivation. Finding motivation to start running is difficult, but following the tips provided on how to be motivated will certainly help me.

This book is about howto lose weight. running is a great way to lose weight. We are born to run. If an animal is going to attack us we run.when hunting back in the day you chase an animal to wear it down. Running burns calories, it makes you feel good, makes your lungs stronger, curbs high blood pressure and much more. People are getting bigger because of processed foods. Like sugar, fiber,and more. If you want to learn more here is a book you should buy.
i found the walking-running-walking method very helpful so that I can easily transition from my comfort zone, walking, to running. I was even surprised on the homemade energy drinks by the end of the book,It gave me all the information I needed to understand more about subject and I'm really glad that found it. The tips in this book are very easy to follow so I found it very useful and enjoyable as well. I give this book five stars out of five because I really learned a lot by reading it.
You can keep fit in many different ways. A free way of doing so is by running. As the book outlines, running works the entire body and is good for your heart. Running also helps you to lose weight and stay healthy overall. There is a right and wrong way to run, so the book tells you how to do it best. The advantages of running over using a treadmill are also stated.

Everyone knows that one of the healthiest things to do is running. It keeps us fit and helps in losing weight. But just like everything else there is a proper way to run and it is clearly thought in this book. Following the advice in this book will definitely maximise the benefits of running and it keeps you away from harm and possible injuries From the proper gear and dressing to proper posture; from when, where to run to how to be safe. There are chapters on how to keep you motivated in running and energy giving drinks not just to keep your running but active throughout the day.
First and foremost, this author really needs an editor. I almost rushed through the book at some parts, because the editing was non-existent.

Other than that, the book is a good read. I do wish the section about foot strikes had more information, and possibly more descriptions of how to obtain/use each strike.

The book explains how to get started, and how to excel in running. It also includes some great warm-up exercises and how to properly cool down after your run. It even has a few recipes!

If you are looking to start running or to get better in running, then this book was made for you.
Me being over 350 pounds the word "Running" usually scares me...but I have tried it in the past. But, never seem to stick with it because I could never run very far or I would be in extreme pain and sore. In this book the author let's you know that you can walk, run. walk until your able to reach a pace and distance for you! They writer lists the benefits to running as well as how to lose weight while running. Which I believe pretty much everyone sometime in their life could lose a little weight.

I really like that the author described in detail on how to avoid injury while running, even the postures and framework to have a successful jog!

After reading this book I will know what to wear. tips for running safely, and nutrition and diet for runners.

I should be able to start running now and shed a few pounds!
This book is an easy read with great suggestions for novices like me. It does the basics of explaining how running is beneficial to a weight loss journey, gives advice on calorie intakes, meals, and proper attire. Some more experienced runners may find the know a few of the things mentioned. However, some of the points suggestion bare repeating. I.e. Carrying identification and or medical card while running, in case of an accident. Wearing synthetic fabrics instead of cotton, because cotton doesn't absorb your sweat. It also has a few recipes in the back heathy smoothies to assist in your journey. My favorite was the Berry Blast. I added a few more strawberries since their my favorite. I wasn't sold on the homemade protein shake with quinoa and chia seeds, but I think that's just a matter of personal taste. I haven't met a protein shake I like. ) Anyway, I'd recommend this book to other runnings. It's a great quick guide to take some of the intimidation factor out of running and weight loss.
